Our design process
At Taichi Landscapes, our ultimate goal is to deliver a garden that not only reflects your personal style but also enhances your quality of life.
We are committed to guiding you through every step of the design process, from the initial consultation to the final installation and maintenance of your garden.
Step 1. Preliminary Discussion
We request 1 - 1.5 hours of your time for an on-site meeting to discuss your project and explore its potential. During this meeting, we will create a design brief and provide you with a design or construction fee proposal to review. Our design fees are calculated at a rate of $120 per hour.
Any additional drawings, such as structural details, or Engineer's drawings will also be charged at this rate.
Step 2. Garden Design and Plan
We will send you a series of visual aids via email, including mood boards, material suggestions, planting schemes, and structural elements, to assist in creating a clear picture of the proposed design. This is a collaborative process, and we welcome your feedback to ensure the final design meets your needs and preferences.
A second site visit will be arranged to present your garden design and any relevant detailed drawings. The design process typically takes 2-4 weeks to complete.
Step 3. Implementation Quote
After completing your garden design, we will provide you with a quotation for construction and implementation for your review.
Step 4. Council Approval
If required, we will conduct the necessary research, preparation, and submission of council applications for approval. Any related fees will be discussed and agreed upon during the preliminary discussion.
